If it's got the Nags Head Hammocks name on it, then you can rest assured it was made in-house, at the weaving workshop in our beloved home state of North Carolina, just as it's always been. 
Over the years we've seen imitators take a stab at copying our products and designs, but the difference in quality and craftsmanship has always been strikingly obvious. We're still here doing what we do best for a reason - because our wonderfully loyal customers appreciate the legacy of quality we bring to everything we make. We don't get to say thank you to you often enough for allowing us to continue doing what we love - so thank you!
Some of our designs haven't changed since we started out more than 30 years ago, and for good reason!. That's not to say we're closed to new designs and ideas, and new technologies and materials - our door is always open to innovations that improve our products and better serve our customers. We were the first hammock and outdoor-furniture crafter, for instance, to recognize the true potential of DuraCord rope, introducing it not only into our line of hammocks, but into all models of our rope furniture as well. DuraCord is as tough against weather as polyester, but it also holds its color - and it's as soft as cotton!
Comfort
Our job is always to put your body at the greatest ease. We personally test our products to make sure they're as comfortable, and as ergonomically efficient, as possible. One great advance in durability in recent years has produced a similar boost in comfort: The cottony-soft DuraCord yarn that's now woven into our multi-ply colored rope, and that goes into our hammock and furniture pads, and our cushioned swing, ups the immediate comfort level tremendously, all the while promising a long life of relaxation outdoors.

Ten Reason why Nags Head Hammocks is above the rest
1. Rope quality.
We don't skimp on rope. We use the best soft-spun polyester and DuraCord yarn available. All our rope is triple-ply, woven in the U.S.A. to our industry-setting standards for strength, durability, color-fastness and comfort.
2. Wood quality.
We don't skimp on our wood, either. We craft the wood portions of our products from beautiful white oak, and only white oak, another industry first. Some "hardwoods" used in our industry are really more "mystery woods" - they're really not that hard or durable when you get right down to it. To put it nicely, they don't age with much grace. Many of the sailing ships that first visited these shores centuries ago were built out of white oak. We figure the Atlantic Ocean is a pretty tough customer, as customers go. So if white oak was good enough for those ships, well then, that's good enough for us!
3. Wood-working quality, to the finish!
We do it all by hand, cutting and sanding one piece of wood at a time. Then we hand-dip those wood pieces in varnish to ensure an even and durable finish. Once that dipped wood has hardened dry, we buff it to smoothness ... and then we coat the wood again with varnish! In all, we put on three coats of high-gloss exterior polyurethane, to protect and beautify your outdoor furniture for years of outdoor weather to come.
4. Hardware.
Not to boast or anything, but it doesn't get any better than us! We created the industry standard for maximum-quality hardware almost 20 years ago. We have our hooks and other hanging-assembly parts specially made out of galvanized metal and zinc plating, promising you many seasons of safe - and shiny! - relaxation.
5. Handmade, through and through.
Right here in North Carolina. We've handcrafted our hammocks for more than 30 years now, and we"ll continue to do so in order to maintain the quality and workmanship that our customers have consistently shown they value as much as we do.
6. Hand-bent for comfort.
We're one of the only hammock companies that still puts the traditional curve in its hammock spreader bars. A straight-bar hammock can be made a bit more inexpensively, to be sure, but it will never feel quite as good. The curved bar not only adds beauty, but makes your hammock seem as if it's cradling you. That curve will always be a part of our hammocks, and not just for tradition's sake, but for your added comfort. Sure, it's time-consuming and a little more costly for us - but real quality can be like that!
7. We're still here! Experience counts.
After more than three decades of making furniture that's at home on our own wind- and sometimes storm-swept stretch of islands, we've learned a thing or two about how weathering happens. That's why we continue to put so much thought and care into our products - if they bear the Nags Head name, they have to stand up! Our hammocks have made it through more than a few hurricanes, and lived to provide relaxation for many more seasons to come. We're now often making hammocks for the children of our earliest customers - kids who grew up swinging in a Nags Head Hammock. That's about as good as praise can get.
