Few types of wood match the distinctiveness and sturdiness of polished Southern cypress. Pair the wood’s inherent richness with the sharp contrast of galvanized hardware and a provocative design recalling the grand sweep of classic Turkish architecture – or even more the body of some great sailing ship – and you have a feast for the eyes that if put to good use will often lull your eyes to closing! We’re justifiably proud of this beauty, to say the least.

Cypress naturally ages to a kind of pewter-gray, which many people find wonderfully appealing. Of course, cypress also takes to polish like a small child is drawn to an empty hammock, and maintaining this stand’s original lustrous sheen is as easy as some light-grit sandpaper and a couple of coats of high-quality polyurethane wood varnish (we use the Olympic brand’s Maximum Water Proofing Sealant and Penetrating Oil, the Honey Gold Formula, available at most hardware stores).
