Perched on the north end of the OBX village of Avon, right off Hwy. 12, this happy shop is a relaxing respite on the journey south to Ocracoke, or driving back up toward Nags Head and beyond. Quaint like Avon itself, the store has a real beach-cottage feel to it. It’s up on the second story, like most everything at this end of Hatteras Island – the ocean has a habit of occasionally drifting over the dunes during storms, to pay a surprise visit! The Avon store’s pleasantly landscaped yard and upstairs deck have hammocks, swings and chairs just waiting for you to give in to temptation. And you will! |
